The more we experience God's mercy, the more we extend mercy to others and thereby invite them to experience God's mercy with us.

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Matthew 5:7

The more we experience God's mercy, the more we extend mercy to others and thereby invite them to experience God's mercy with us.

  • Have you experienced God's mercy revealed in Christ?
  • If you are His, do people experience you as merciful? as one who grasps the magnitude of God's mercy toward you in Christ? Or as harsh, exacting, and unforgiving? What message do your actions proclaim?
  • To whom do you find it most difficult to show mercy? Why? Is their "sin" against you greater than your sin against the God who has shown you infinite mercy?
  • Are you merciful to yourself? God's mercy toward you in Christ means you can/must show you mercy too.
