We can suffer without losing hope, because the suffering servant is with us, accomplishing His purposes through our suffering.

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written

“‘You shall worship the Lord your God

and him only shall you serve.’”

11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.

Matthew 4:8-11

We can suffer without losing hope, because the suffering servant is with us, accomplishing His purposes through our suffering.

  • Are you suffering this morning? In one of the ways I mentioned or perhaps another? I encourage you to look for Jesus, who is with you in your suffering.
  • Since we're called to embody Christ to one another, one of the best ways to find Him in your suffering is by inviting other Christ-followers into your suffering...
  • As you move through suffering, try to take your eyes off yourself to place them on Him and those around you who may be suffering. Who do you know who is suffering and needs to meet and grow closer to the Suffering Servant? You mission is clear.
